Elizabeth Handley is originally from the small town of Derby, Vermont where she began studying dance at the age of three. She intensely studied classical ballet under the direction of Kathleen McCloskey-Scott, and also studied jazz, tap and modern dance with Diane Colburn. Elizabeth went on to receive her B.F.A in Dance Performance at the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College in 2007. She subsequently spent five years living and dancing in New York City. In 2012 she returned to her hometown of Derby Vermont, to become the head of the ballet program at North Country School of Dance. Along with ballet, she taught contemporary, jazz, tap and modern classes. Elizabeth has also been a returning guest teacher/choreographer for the dance company of North Country Union High School. In 2013, she went on to teach at the School of Dance and Music in Manhattan Beach, California.
