Elissa Cretella

Elissa graduated from Adelphi University with a BFA in Dance in 2011, and was the recipient of the program's Ruth St Denis Award. During her time at Adelphi, she studied ballet under Frank Augustyn and honed her skills in Graham and Taylor modern techniques. While at school, Elissa went on to spend summers at the American Ballet Theatre's Summer Intensive in NYC, interned with the Paul Taylor Dance Company, and attended Desmon Richardson's World Dance Movement in Italy. Upon graduating, Elissa moved to NYC where she continued to study at Paul Taylor, Steps on Broadway, and Peridance. She performed at the Ailey Citigroup Theater with Freddie Moore, Dixon Place, RAW Arts Festival, and HATCH Presenting Series, among others. In 2013, Elissa received her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training from Pure Yoga NYC. Most recently, Elissa has been teaching both ballet and yoga to adults and children of all ages. With years of profressional training behind her, Elissa is thrilled to have found a home teaching at Freyer Academy of Ballet.
