Introduction to Ballet
This workshop is for the straight beginner or a dancer wishing to relearn the basics. Learn the basic concepts and exercises of ballet including the positions of the feet, positions of the arms, movements in dancing, and all the introductory steps. The class will begin with exercises at the barre strengthing posture, turnout, and core, while enhancing your flexibility. The second half of class will consist of center exercises applying the techniques learned at the barre to dancing.
Our Ballet Choreography Workshop begins with a traditional ballet warm up at the barre followed by 30-40 minutes of chroreography. Each piece of choreography is original from the teacher and is carried out for several weeks. This workshop allows the dancer to explore the freedom of expression in dance.
Modern Dance Choreography
Our Modern Dance Choreography Workshop begins with a center floor warm-up with a blend of exercises from Graham, Horton, Paul Taylor, and Limon followed by 30 minutes of choreography. Each piece of choreography is carried out for several weeks. This workshop allows the dancer to explore the freedom of expression in modern dance.
